Make that all-important first impression in your hallway by creating a welcoming area rather than a dead space.

Your floors should reflect the style of the rest of your home, and in terms of practicality we love either a stone or timber floor.  If you have period home try to research the original flooring that would have been laid.  From classic Victorian tile designs to large natural flagstones, there is an array of options available.

Entrance halls can be lacking in natural light during the day and warmth in the evening.  A great way to brighten up your hallway is to use a stylish chandelier or hanging pendant.  Our Derwent pendant is elegant but understated, and would blend in with most interiors.

Space is also a consideration when creating an entrance look, and using slim furniture can really help.  Our Tang console is not only beautiful with its slim shape in black lacquer and gold leaf edges, but also very functional with drawers for your bits and pieces.  Adding a mirror above your entrance console or dresser is perfect for practicality, as well as giving the illusion of space.  Try our black and gold Porthole mirror for some extra impact.

Using wallpaper rather than paint can make all the difference, your entrance hall could be the perfect area to use that gorgeous design you have found.  Add a small upholstered chair to liven up the space with a pop of colour, or just as an extra little seat.

To complete the warm welcome to your home, try accessorising your entrance console or dresser with candles and table lamps.  Our wonderful scented candles are not only lovely to look at, but also have fantastic natural fragrances.  We also have a great selection of beautiful table lamps in a range of styles and finishes.  Try our unique hand blown glass Crocus lamp in fuchsia or olive.
